 Dear Parents/Guardians of 3^rd, 4^th, & 5^th Grade Children,

               3^rd, 4^th, & 5^th graders will have an opportunity to participate in Viewmont’s Running Club (VRC).  This after school activity, Viewmont’s Running Club, will focus on the improvement of health through activities that involve running and becoming productive, responsible citizens.  VRC will meet Wednesdays until 4:00pm on the dates noted below.  VRC will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather (i.e. raining, storm watches or warnings).

               If your child is interested and someone will be available to pick him or her up on the Wednesdays listed below at 4:00pm, please fill out the form below and return it as soon as possible.   The bottom of this form must be completed, signed, and returned for your child to stay!  VRC will not meet on days in which there is inclemenent weather.

               Extracurricular activities are an extension of the school day.  Therefore, expectations during VRC are the same as during school hours and there are high expectations for VRC participants during the school day, as well.  Please see the reverse side of this form for the expectations of VRC.  By signing the bottom of this form and returning it, your child and you are acknowledging and accepting these expectations.

               Students must be picked up by 4:20pm.  The 2^nd time a child is picked up after 4:20; VRC privileges will be lost for the remainder of the season.

Please read the information below and return the bottom of the front page to school signed. In the section below, you will find the expectations for Viewmont’s Running Club. By signing the front of this letter and returning it, your child and you are saying you will abide by the expectations set forth below:

Viewmont’s Running Club Expectations

1. Follow the VRC Social Contract (an agreement of behavior) during VRC.
2. Follow your classroom’s social contract.
3. Complete all assigned homework with maximum effort and turn it in on time.
4. Complete all assigned class work with maximum effort.

Failing to meet expectations 1-4 will result in the following actions:

               1^st Time – Warning & Parent/Guardian Contact

               2^nd Time – Not able to participate in VRC for 1 week & Parent/Guardian Contact

               3^rd Time – Loss of all VRC privileges for the remainder of the season & Parent/Guardian                                   Contact

On the Wednesdays VRC meets, participants should walk down with car riders.  Once outside, participants then walk to the outdoor basketball court.

Any Out-of-School Suspension will result in the loss of all VRC privileges.
