Do you know the “cold” facts?

Cold and the flu are caused by different strains of a virus.  (There are 200 different cold viruses!)  The symptoms of the flu are more severe and last longer than the symptoms of a cold.  So what is the difference between the flu and a cold?

With the flu:
  • Symptoms come on quickly
  • Temperature rises within 24 hours
You may:
  • Have a poor appetite
  • Get a severe headache
  • Have aches and pains all over
  • Feel sick
  • Be generally exhausted
With a Cold:
  • Symptoms creep up on you
  • Temperature rises after 24 hours
  • Your appetite is almost normal
  • You may have a slight headache
