SchoolMessenger Message

Message from Sunday, 12/8/19

Good afternoon this is Jeff Hodakowski, principal of Viewmont Elementary, with some announcements.

Our own Crossing Guard, Peggy Hunter, was nominated for America's Favorite Crossing Guard.   You can only vote every 24 hours.  The link is listed on our PTA Facebook Page and on our website.   Peggy is always out there, rain or shine, to make sure people are safe.  Let's show our support and vote for Peggy.  Voting will end on December 12th.

Attendance is very important.   Being at school and on time is critical for student success.  However if your child is sick, please do not send them to school.  We are already seeing quite a few cases of strep throat, stomach viruses, and a few cases of the flu.

To keep the spread of illnesses to a minimum, DO NOT send children back to school until:

They have been without a fever for  24 hours (without fever reducing medicine, like Tylenol or Motrin)

It has been 24 hours since their last episode of vomiting or diarrhea

It has been 24 hours since their first dose of antibiotics

The Winter Break will begin on Saturday, December 21st, and students will not return to school until Monday, January 6th.

Thanks and have a great afternoon!
