SchoolMessenger Message

Message from Sunday, 10/13/19

Good afternoon this is Jeff Hodakowski, principal of Viewmont Elementary, with some announcements.

Please remember that students should not be dropped off before 7:50, unless they are enrolled in the Kid Connection program.  Also, this is a reminder that an adult should come in and sign in a child that comes to school after the 8:30 bell.

Thank you to all those that participated in the Castle of Cans Food Drive.  We collected over 600 cans that we donated.

We are starting to see some illnesses at the school.  Remember, students must be fever free without fever reducing medication for 24 hours before returning to school.

We have a couple of Spirit Nights coming up.  On Oct 15th, Hickory Smokehouse BBQ is hosting a Spirit Night for our school.   Pelican's SnoBalls on HWY 321 will also host a spirit event on Thursday, October 24th.  On Monday, October 28th, Mellow Mushroom will host a Spirit Night for us.   Take out orders will count and you must tell them you are supporting Viewmont Elementary.  All events are between the hours of 6-8pm.

Thank you to all of the volunteers that helped at our Book Fair.  Our Book Fair did quite well and we will be able to use the proceeds to help purchase some items for our school.

Don't forget to collect BoxTops.   For those that do not want to clip and send in, you can go to boxtops4education.com and find out how to download the app and then scan your receipts so that the school will receive credit.

The PTA School Store will be open on Friday, October 18th, from 8:10-8:30.

The end of the first quarter is on Friday, October 18th.  Students will be out of school on Monday, October 21st, due to a Teacher's Workday.

Report cards will come home on Wednesday, October 23rd.

On Thursday, October 24th and Friday, October 25th, there is an event over at St. Luke's that will begin at 8:00 am.  On these 2 mornings, please do not park over there and cross in the morning.   They will be done by 2:15 in the afternoon, so this will not impact our afternoon dismissal and we will still able to use their parking lot on these dates for dismissal procedures.

Thanks and have a great evening!

It looks like the winter storm has taken another day from us. Students will be out of school on Monday, January 25th. There has not been a decision made about when the snow days will be made up at this time.

Lost and Found has multiplied. Please have students check the media center for any missing items. We will be getting rid of the items at the end of this week.

Report cards will be sent home on Tuesday, January 26th. Awards Day will be on Wednesday, January 27th. Grades 3-5 will be at 9:00 and grades K-2 will be at 10:00.
