Message from Sunday, 2/17/2019

Good afternoon this is Jeff Hodakowski, principal of Viewmont Elementary, with some announcements.

This is a reminder that students are out of school on Monday, February 18th.   It is a Teacher's Workday.

Our Positive Parenting Class is on Tuesday, February 19th at 6:00 in our Media Center.  The topic is Raising Confident Competent Children. We hope that you can attend.

We have an El Paso Spirit Night on Thursday, February 21st from 5:30 - 8:30.  The last time we had an El Paso Spirit Night they donated over $500 to our school.  This is a fundraiser in which you do not need to tell them that you are supporting our school.  Anyone that eats there will contribute to our school.

The Book Fair is coming.   The Book Fair will take place starting on Monday, February 25th and will end the morning of Friday, March 1st.   We will have a PTA Meeting on Tuesday, February 26th at 6:00.  Not only will the Book Fair be open this evening, but we will have a science show from the Catawba Science Center.  By attending, you can enter your name in a drawing for a gift certificate to the Book Fair.   We will select 3 winners and you must be present to win.

Lenoir Rhyne University is inviting our families to attend an LR basketball game on Saturday, March 2nd at 2 and 4.  They will provide each of the kids and families complimentary tickets to the games.   You have to RSVP in order to receive the complimentary tickets.  Look for information to come home on Tuesday, February 19th or Tuesday, February 26th and then return the RSVP to the school immediately.

Thanks and have a great evening!

It looks like the winter storm has taken another day from us. Students will be out of school on Monday, January 25th. There has not been a decision made about when the snow days will be made up at this time.

Lost and Found has multiplied. Please have students check the media center for any missing items. We will be getting rid of the items at the end of this week.

Report cards will be sent home on Tuesday, January 26th. Awards Day will be on Wednesday, January 27th. Grades 3-5 will be at 9:00 and grades K-2 will be at 10:00.
