About Mrs. Church

I am excited about joining the Viewmont Elementary community! I was born and raised here in Hickory. I attended Hickory Public Schools, and upon graduating, I pursued a degree in Elementary Education at Lenoir-Rhyne University. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education (grades K-6). Later, I earned a Master of Arts degree in Special Education from Appalachian State University. This year is my sixteenth year of teaching, all of which have been in Exceptional Children’s classrooms.

A former colleague once said, “With independence comes dignity.” My role as an Exceptional Children’s resource teacher is to facilitate greater independence and further preparation for the next phase in your child’s life. I look forward to working with you and your child this school year!
