Hello My Name Is...

Robyn Parker

Parker

My name is Robyn Parker and I am so excited to be a part of the Viewmont family. I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with my Bachelor's in Psychology and Spanish (Go Heels!) and earned my Master's in School Counseling from Appalachian State University (Go 'Neers!) as well as my National Certified Counselor (NCC) credential from the National Board for Certified Counselors. Additionally, I am currently licensed as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of North Carolina. In my spare time, I enjoy art projects, spending time with my husband, three children & two cats, and spontaneous dance parties.

As a school counselor, I deliver classroom lessons, lead small groups, and provide short-term individual counseling throughout the school year. When working with students, I use an integrative approach that includes solution-focused brief therapy, child-centered play therapy, and expressive art techniques. I am also the 504 coordinator at Viewmont for students who may benefit from those services. I work closely with our community to run assistance programs (i.e., the Backpack Program, PORCH, etc.) and connect students and their families to resources both in our school and in the community.
