Welcome to Ms. Norton's 5th Grade Class!

I am so excited to be teaching your sweet and lively 5th graders this year! I can't wait to continue getting to know them and your families as the year goes on.  

I grew up near Atlanta, Georgia, and I moved to Hickory, NC after graduating from the University of Georgia with a degree in Early Childhood Education in 2013. Go Dawgs! This is my 9th year teaching at Viewmont Elementary, and I'm so thankful to be here! I taught 5 years in kindergarten, one year in 4th, and this is my third year in 5th. We have so much fun learning each day, and I can't wait to see each student grow as the year goes on.

Helpful Information:
- I will be some of your students' homeroom teacher, and I teach all 5th graders Science and SS.
-Mrs. Irvin teaches your child ELA and Ms. Bryant teaches Math.
-All of 5th grade uses Classroom Dojo to communicate with families and monitor your child's behavior.
