WELCOME TO 2ND GRADE!

Hello! My name is Ms. Carol Johnson!
I am from right here in Hickory and am a product of Hickory Public Schools.  I have an adult son and daughter and 5 grandchildren.
I am a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University and this is my 16th year of teaching.  I have taught Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th grades.  I worked in Newton Conover City Schools and just left Gaston County Schools to finally come home to the Hickory Public Schools district and am so excited to be home!
I have a passion for Growth Mindset because I truly believe that what you speak is what you become.  That being said, I want to encourage students to believe in themselves, make smart choices and to NEVER GIVE UP!  Perseverance and Grit are my 2 choice Growth Mindset themes this year.  
I can't wait to meet my students and parents.  We are going to have a Super school year!
