Fourth grade has been studying African American heroes.  Students have been working on their project for a week and a half to decide on an influential African American, research that person, and create a banner with all of the information. They also received extra credit if they dressed as their hero. We had countless heroes - Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King, Jr., Colin Powell, Barack and Michelle Obama, Ruby Bridges, and many others. Pictured on the left are students who dressed up as Fannie Lou Hamer, Michael Jackson, Barack Obama, and Harriet Tubman.  Pictured on the right are Mrs. Wright and Nalaysia Staton dressed as Harriet Tubman.
